Where to Stay on My Khe Beach — Pick the Stretch First
In Da Nang the first decision is not which hotel but which stretch of coast. My Khe runs for kilometres along one beach road, and staying on that line means the sand and the city are both inside a 15-minute drive. The four properties below sit on it.
Do not pick My Khe for the airport. All four are 11–16 minutes from Da Nang International, so that number tells you nothing here. What actually separates them is how far the city is and whether the sand in front of the property belongs to the property.
Who My Khe works for — and who it doesn’t
It works if you want beach and pool during the day and a restaurant or the night market in the evening. Han Market is 2.83–4.6km out, a 10–15 minute drive, which stays manageable even on a two-night trip.
Three itineraries are better served elsewhere.
If the Marble Mountains are the point of the trip, go south to the Non Nuoc stretch instead. Melia Danang Beach is 640m from them — walkable. The trade is Han Market at 9.29km, more than double My Khe, and an Agoda location score of 8.1 against 9.1–9.4 along this strip.
If you never intend to leave the resort, My Khe’s advantage is one you will not use. City access becomes a wasted variable, and the grounds are larger on the Non Nuoc side.
If you want to walk the city on the west bank of the Han River, no beach property answers that. We do not cover central Da Nang stays yet, so this guide names the alternative without listing one.
Same beach, two different stays
This is the part a hotel list will not show you. The My Khe line divides into a north end and a south end, and Han Market moves by roughly 1.5km between them. North is closer to the city; south is where the resorts sit directly on the sand. You do not get both.
- North — Risemount Premier Resort Danang is 2.83km from Han Market and 11 minutes from the airport; Altara Suites Danang is 3km and 16 minutes. Neither lists a private beach. Altara is 70m from the sand — across the beach road, but a public stretch — and Risemount is set back on Nguyen Van Thoai, 650m from the water.
- South — Furama Resort Danang and Premier Village Danang occupy the beach itself and run private sections of it. In exchange Han Market is 4.52km and 4.6km, about 1.5km further than the north end.
Both southern listings show a “My Khe Beach — 1.87km / 1.82km” line, and it misleads people constantly. That is the distance to the point Agoda pins as My Khe Beach, not to the sand in front of the resort. Read it as distance to the restaurant strip, not to the water.
What separates the four
Same district, four different answers.
- Most city access — Risemount, at 2.83km from Han Market, 1.71km from the Dragon Bridge and 11 minutes from the airport. The cost is that at 650m it is not a beachfront stay.
- Longer stays with a kitchen — Altara, where every unit is a 60–180㎡ suite and some types include a kitchen and washer. Note the lift wait: 33 floors served by three lifts is the complaint that recurs in reviews.
- A day that starts and ends in the water — Furama, with a lagoon pool and a main pool that run straight into its private beach. It opened in 1997 and was last renovated in 2013, and checkout is 11am rather than noon.
- A whole house for a large party — Premier Village, all private-pool villas up to four bedrooms. At the same bedroom count, Ocean Access and Garden View differ in floor area and bed configuration, so read the full room name.
How properties get onto this list
- Verified distances to Han Market, the railway station and the airport
- Whether the beach in front is the property’s own — on My Khe this is what splits the strip
- Room and bed configurations by party size
- Drawbacks that recur in guest reviews
Distances come from Agoda property data; the verification date is on each hotel page. This is research compiled before booking, not a first-hand stay report.
For the comparison that includes stretches beyond this one, see Where to Stay in Da Nang. For rooms that take four or more guests, see Da Nang family rooms.
