Location & getting around

The resort holds a beachfront plot on Vo Nguyen Giap, at the southern end of the My Khe strip. Opening in 1997 meant first pick of the coastline, and the sand runs straight off the property as its own private section.

One figure is easy to misread: “My Khe Beach 1.87km.” My Khe is a long continuous stretch running the length of the coast road, and this resort sits on it. The 1.87km is the distance to the point Agoda pins as My Khe Beach — not the distance to the sand outside your room. Guest reviews repeatedly describe walking straight from the pool onto the private beach.

The airport is 5.54km away, about 15 minutes — effectively the same as the north end of the strip at 11–16 minutes. Along My Khe, airport time is not what separates properties. Town is. Han Market is 4.52km, the cathedral 4.1km, the Dragon Bridge 3.35km, DHC Marina 3.25km and the railway station 5.57km, which puts town about 1.5km further out than the northern properties at 2.8–3km. Over several evenings that adds up.

Day-to-day errands are the compensation: a VinMart 480m away and a clinic at 540m, and reviews mention shops and restaurants within walking distance of the gate. Agoda’s location score is 9.1.

Rooms & occupancy

It is a five-star resort built in 1997 and last renovated in 2013, with 198 rooms. Being one of Da Nang’s earliest openings means the age is a real factor. Reviews mention weak toilet flush, a hairdryer that cuts out every thirty seconds and a fridge that would not cool. Others describe the classic feel and the landscaping as exactly what they wanted — both readings appear often.

The lineup splits in two. Hotel-style rooms run about 44㎡ for garden superior, garden deluxe and ocean deluxe, up to roughly 86㎡ for an ocean suite, with a family connecting room around 80㎡ and a kids family room for those travelling with children. Villas run one, two and three-bedroom pool villas and a four-bedroom villa.

Having both formats inside one resort is the useful part: a smaller party takes a hotel room, and anyone who wants a private pool moves to a villa without changing property.

Check the child policy before you book. The stated free-stay age band is 2–3, where other Da Nang resorts run to 5–11. With school-age children that changes how occupancy is charged, so confirm it on the booking screen.

Facilities

There is a private beach, an outdoor pool, a spa and massage, a 24-hour fitness centre, a tennis court, a kids club, a coffee shop and restaurants. Bicycle hire and a billiard table are on site, and staff are listed as covering 13 languages.

The pools are the signature. What reviewers mention most is the palm-lined lagoon pool, run alongside a main pool, with the water feeding directly into the private beach. For a trip built around long days in the water with children, that layout does most of the work.

Three things to weigh. First, checkout is 11am, an hour earlier than most Da Nang resorts, which shortens departure day. Second, breakfast divides opinion — several reviews call it underwhelming, and others note the menu repeating over a longer stay. Third, one review describes crossing the lobby level in swimwear to reach the beach and needing a robe for it.

If you are booking a villa, one more thing. A guest review describes the villa zone being split between resort-managed villas and privately owned ones, with lagoon pool access differing between them. Confirm which facilities your booking includes before you commit.

Compared & alternatives

If the age is the sticking point, Premier Village Danang sits on the same southern stretch, built in 2014 and renovated in 2021. The difference is that it has no hotel-style rooms at all — every unit is a villa.

For closer city access, Altara Suites Danang is on the northern end of the same strip, with Han Market 3km away and kitchens in some suite types. It has no private beach, though.

On facility scale alone, Melia Danang Beach is larger, but it sits on the Non Nuoc stretch where Han Market is 9.29km out.

For a trip spent between the lagoon pool and a private beach, the position leaves little to complain about, and with over 11,000 guest reviews there is plenty of evidence to check it against.

Go in knowing three things: it opened in 1997 and was last renovated in 2013, checkout is 11am, and the free-stay child band is 2–3. Breakfast is the most divided part of the record, so set expectations there rather than being surprised. Rates move with dates, occupancy and room type.
