Melia Danang Beach: What Do You Get for Being Out of Town?

Location & getting around

The resort is on Truong Sa, the southern segment of Da Nang’s coast road — past the end of the My Khe strip, on Non Nuoc Beach. The sand is 210m away, effectively beachfront, and the resort runs a private section of it.

The reason to choose this stretch comes down to one number: the Marble Mountains are 640m away. One of Da Nang’s main sights is a walk from the room, which makes a half-day of sightseeing easy to slot between beach days. Reviews confirm people do exactly that, and describe taking a taxi onward towards Hoi An.

The trade is distance from town, and it is not marginal: 9.64km to the airport (about 23 minutes), 10.24km to the railway station, 9.29km to Han Market. Properties at the north end of the My Khe strip are 2.8–3km from that market and the southern ones about 4.5km. This is a different order of magnitude, not one step further out.

Agoda’s location score reflects it — 8.1 here against 9.1–9.4 for the My Khe resorts — and guest reviews raise airport access and getting around on foot as the recurring drawback. The nearest hospital is 1.55km away.

Rooms & occupancy

This is a 521-room resort, built in 2013 and large even by five-star standards, which is why the grounds and facilities are extensive. It also means crowds over holidays and peak season.

Standard rooms are around 38㎡ (deluxe) and 40㎡ (family), split further by deluxe ocean view and premium partial ocean view. Above them sits The Level, where The Level Premium is about 55㎡ and the Grand Premium about 58㎡ — a clear step up in floor area.

Occupancy works along two lines. For three people the family room is the realistic pick; if the sleeping areas need to be separate, the two-bedroom Level family or the two-bedroom Level unit does that. Reviews mention three guests in a family room, and a ground-floor two-bedroom with a terrace facing the pool. Children aged 5–11 stay free under the property’s stated policy.

The Level is closer to a benefits bundle than a room grade. Guest reviews describe a separate breakfast area, afternoon tea from the early afternoon and drinks in the evening. Inclusions vary by rate plan, so check what the price difference actually buys. Note that check-in is 3pm, later than most of the strip.

Facilities

There is a private beach, an outdoor pool, a spa, a fitness centre, restaurants and bars, gardens and a library, plus airport transfer service and currency exchange.

With children, this is the part that justifies the location. The kids club, children’s pool and playground are separate facilities, and there is a badminton court. Reviews describe a child going to the kids club daily, pool depths that suited a young swimmer, and a lifeguard watching the surf. Another mentions borrowing bicycles from the front desk to get around the grounds.

Breakfast is buffet and continental, and several reviews single out the Korean dishes. Some rate plans exclude breakfast, so confirm whether it is included rather than assuming.

The drawbacks come from the same scale. Reviews describe outdoor events for tour groups running late into the evening, with no advance notice given — the most concrete complaint on file. Others mention the sauna water and a room fridge that did not cool properly. If you want a small, quiet resort, this is not the shape of it.

Compared & alternatives

If the city is part of the plan, change stretch rather than hotel. Risemount Premier Resort Danang sits at the north end of My Khe — 11 minutes to the airport, Han Market 2.83km. Same city, different trip.

To keep beachfront while halving the distance to town, Furama Resort Danang is on the southern part of the My Khe strip at 4.52km from Han Market, with its own private beach.

For quiet villas, Premier Village Danang has 111 units, all private-pool villas — the opposite of the large-resort case for staying here.

Bottom line

For “rest on the beach, walk to the Marble Mountains, park the children at the kids club,” the Non Nuoc stretch does something no My Khe property can. That combination is genuinely rare in Da Nang.

The flip side is that city access here is the furthest of any Da Nang beach stay — Han Market at 9.29km is more than double the My Khe strip. If your evenings are in town, put the round trip in the itinerary before you book. Rates move with dates, occupancy and whether you take The Level.
